LETTER TO THE EDITOR

I just wanted to shed light on the votes cast and the comments made by mayoral candidate Todd Krause at the zoning board of appeals meeting this past March 1st, 2022. I am just relaying these facts to the citizens of our little gem of a city, Lake Geneva, to help them make a more informed decision for mayor on April 5th.

That meeting was about a property owner here who did a considerable amount of changes to an existing parking lot without the required permits before starting construction. Mr. Krause actually voted 6 times, in essence, to let the owner keep it as is, violating the city’s existing rules, regulations, and zoning ordinances. It was good news that there were enough other members voting the opposite way to uphold those rules. If it had been granted it would have set a bad precedent for our city.

If this is the way that he behaved here, it might easily be a good indication of how he would conduct our city’s business. Of course, you can make that decision for yourself. If you should want any particulars on his conduct in that meeting, please contact the GSR, who has my contact information on file.
