That’s just happened over the course of the last three weeks!
The public is being taken onto a giant ‘campaign bus’ moving backward to a time when old white men of property ruled the land, made the rules, and lived in isolated splendor…while mostly being miserable enough to want something better for those who would come to follow them. The current resurgent mess of old white men (oh, and one old black whacko on the Supreme Court), in their ten-thousand-dollar suits, with limos and chateaus in multiple places, boats bigger than garages and security servants like only dictator-ruled countries have ever seen, are attempting a culture coup by going retro and vintage. They are painting the past as someplace that was filled with peace, harmony, and much less worry and concern. And they are telling one huge lie that is much bigger than the lie about Trump really winning the last election.
In 1850 average life expectancy from birth was only 38 years. 40 years if already reaching age 20. The average daily wage was less than the equivalent of 3 dollars, today (that’s less than 500 dollars a month), and that’s in today’s equivalent worth! There was almost no real dentistry. There was little in the way of what we consider minimally decent medicine. Transportation was difficult to impossible over long distances. Communications were nearly non-existent. There were no home loans to buy houses or any of that. Think about it. There were, however, very few really wealthy people, just like there are today, who took just about everything…and then kept it.
Their names are legend even today: Roosevelt, Carnegie, Rockefeller, Vanderbilt, Astor, and more. These oligarchs still are not considered the true, nearly heartless, and mean-spirited, humans they really were. Is this direction; going forward into the past, what citizens of today really want to pursue? Go back to a past that was in so many ways ugly, hugely limited, and uncomfortable on a daily basis to the point of misery, or have they simply been so deadened to reality by a sold-out mass media, entertainment medium, and current leadership, that they don’t know what returning to such awful times would really be like?
On top of this issue, and along with it, the January 6th Congressional hearings being held, with respect to what happened during that January event, reveal shockingly, patently, and factually, the nightmare of criminality, corruption and total lack of any morality the people who ran the country were all about near the end of the one day known to be caused by the dumbest and most incompetent leader the world has ever witnessed. But nothing will happen. Some of the rioters went to jail for short periods. Most have offers for promotion and jobs upon getting out. The leaders continue to deny and pontificate in the face of what used to be proven and well-presented facts but are seemingly about nothing of true revealing knowledge now. If any of these murderous former leaders of the country get charged and convicted, then the current sold-out Supreme Court will let them go. The rise of densely dumb humans, out of the American mass, follows predictive behavior if set free to roam and then lead. 40% of this public is too dumb to write about, really.
It’s all there in the sociological and anthropological studies of I.Q. over the years. Now that dumb moving mass, like the blob in the 1950’s movie, is consuming everything in its path, propelled by an open and anonymous Internet and a mass media medium that is not only sold-out, like the majority of the Supreme Court membership, but salivating about having great wealth and power as the world goes to hell. These media mogul cretins will play patriotic music madly from their small analogical bandshell as our Titanic ship of state heads ever deeper into the cold water. Maybe the only sad satisfaction is that freezing water will eventually consume them in the end too.
The United States, and with it the world, leans dangerously and brutally close to allowing benevolent dictators to rule almost everyone, save for the fact that there is no benevolence in their rule. Hungary, Turkey, China, North Vietnam, Russia, Syria, and so many more countries should serve as warnings and indications that these former pits of advancing civilization are sinking into a vast heaving sea of nothingness, except the service toward a leader that loves to hurt them as a means of demonstrating how tough he must be. No, I did not use a less sexist term to describe these new dictatorial cretins. They are all men. Women don’t seem to have the same genetic makeup and don’t regularly seek to wipe out the competition, take over and kill almost anyone who might oppose them. The males all competing to be a dictator (and the hearings certainly reveal one American above all sought, and probably still seeks, exactly that) have risen up and are being allowed to have such a skewed lying voice that America really is experiencing a clear and present danger. If you are a good man or good woman, then do nothing in the face of this threat. Evil prevails, not when good men and women commit to such hurtful causes, but when they do nothing to stop it. The Bible’s New Testament is a great guide for future conduct, by the way.
