THE BRIGHT SIDE

The condition of Lake Geneva’s ‘harbor’ is what?
The buoys and slips are all fully leased. The lagoon is basically full, minus two slips at the east end that are really not usable unless rented to someone with a small fishing boat. Since the piers have all gone in, issues have already started to come up. Repairs need to be done at the gas pier. A large 28-foot stringer is cracked and only had a temporary fix done by Elmers. Someone ran into one of the supports and broke it by the finger piers by slips 3 and 4 and it still is not repaired.

Two weeks ago, someone backed into the boat launch and broke one of the supports, moved the pier sideways, broke the post that holds the signage. The repairs have all been done at the boat launch. The swimming piers need some new deck boards. The list does not end there, and new issues continue to arise. The lagoon is also in need of extensive repairs.  The Harbor Master is struggling to get anyone in there to do the work. Summer at the lake is a beautiful thing but behind the scenes the work is nonstop to make it all happen.
