Elkhorn Ribfest 2023 is here and it’s bigger and better than ever.
Ribfest starts Wednesday, July 12th and goes through Sunday, July 16th. This event features world renowned professional BBQ champions along with backyard grillers. Attendees can enjoy great entertainment, food, an artisan market, carnival rides and more. Gravity of Youth will be playing Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. The Ribfest Bike Show is a highly anticipated event during Elkhorn Ribfest, taking place on Thursday, July 13th. This free-to-enter, open bike show is perfect for motorcycle enthusiasts who love to show off their rides. Participants can ride in and park in the festival grounds until full, with judging taking place from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Flat Track racing at Elkhorn Ribfest Thursday, July 13, starting at 5:30 PM. Flat track racing is always exciting to watch, and combining it with good food, good music, it’s guaranteed to be a good time! Sunday features the community division for the best ribs. Cooking starts at 9 a.m., and judging is from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Don’t forget, parking is free.

just that. The visit to Lake Geneva by Donald Driver created immense interest in the area. When out on the boat, for example, with Donald Driver trying to make a commercial about being one of the mail boat mail jumpers he slipped and fell getting back on the mail boat. That little clip of video has created over seven hundred thousand (700,000) views of the event on the GSR Facebook site.
That’s an astounding number that the GSR has never been even close to reaching throughout its 13-year existence on any single video. But it was Klett who put the whole thing together and Bill Gage who helped sponsor it with his boats and crews. Aboard that ‘Gilligan’s Island’ kind of mail boat day, Bill and Stephanie were almost as entertaining as Donald Driver himself. That man should be in the movies. Denzel has nothing on that guy when it comes to intellect, humor, and just grand good will to all about him. What a day that was last week for the staff of the GSR to be along on that ‘three-hour tour.’ Deanna, of the VISIT staff was the actual on the spot person who filmed Donald Driver taking his now famous and viral spill. We cannot thank her enough.
