The 2023 MLB trade deadline is right around the corner and in the coming weeks the Milwaukee Brewers will see who might be worth bringing in to upgrade the offense.
Some have speculated that there might be some Brewers players available at the deadline, but all of the Milwaukee Brewers news indicates they’ll be buyers. The Milwaukee Brewers haven’t had a very good offense and the right field position has been responsible for much of that issue. Milwaukee right fielders have compiled a .212 batting average that ranks second lowest in the league and an OPS of .629 that ranks third worst in MLB. Currently, the Brew Crew is using a trio of Tyrone Taylor, Blake Perkins, and Raimel Tapia and they strike little fear in the eyes of opposing pitchers. As the team stands now, the Brewers have clear needs that are holding them back from their full potential.
The bullpen is extremely thin beyond All-Star CP Devin Williams putting more pressure on the starters and they will have to improve on this if they want to stay in first place. The team has pitched well enough to carry an otherwise slumping offense leaving the Brewers right in the mix for a division title and at the same mark as the wild card teams, they will likely remain in contention for at least one of these playoff spots by the August 1st trade deadline.
