Trick or Treat Day and times seem to be a divided issue every year.
Some city officials want convenience for families and businesses while others want the traditional Halloween fun. When Halloween falls on a weekend it is a bit easier to make everyone happy. This year however, Halloween falls on a Monday, and the council had to pick between Sunday, October 30th, from noon until 5 p.m., which was another issue, as the five hours seemed a bit excessive, and Halloween, which, as previously indicated falls on a Monday, making the start time almost impossible.
After some strong public thoughts from residents, and many of the council members agreeing, Trick or Treating will go at 3p.m., through 5:30 p.m., on Halloween evening this year.
The Geneva Lakes Antique & Classic Boat Show.
This event will go down at the Abby Marina on Saturday September 23rd and Sunday September 24th. This is an annual event held at the Abby Resort Harbor. The Blackhawk Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society are passionate about the event and enjoy sharing it with everyone every year.
Yes, it is open to the public with free admission. The beautiful mostly wooden boats are on display from Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., including a boat parade Saturday, at 4 p.m. This is a great show for everyone, even if they are not a boat enthusiast. The boats are works of art and all will be congregated in one beautiful harbor on what is expected to be a perfect end of summer day.
