LITTLE GEMS
Lake Geneva Schools have much to be proud of but there is always room for improvement.
Engage, Educate, and Empower is the goal of all Lake Geneva Schools and staff. This school year the schools along with stakeholders including students, parents, staff, board members, and the community are invited and encouraged to help develop a five-year strategic plan. With everyone’s help and a set plan, the students’ success is ensured. The Lake Geneva Schools are reaching out through a community-wide survey and the schools are looking for responses good or bad. The survey responses are confidential, ensuring a safe space for all to the voice cons and pros of the plan. Parents and staff should have begun receiving the emails around November 6th and community households will receive surveys through the mail. Watch your inbox and mailbox on and around the first week of November. Join in the effort to shape the future of Lake Geneva’s Schools.
‘Beyond King Tut’ brings ancient Egypt to Milwaukee.
A new immersive experience is transporting Milwaukee to ancient Egypt and one of the most thrilling archaeological discoveries in history. National Geographic’s “Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience” has opened at the Baird Center. Travel back in time 3,000 years to the 18th dynasty when King Tut ruled and gods like Ra and Anubis were worshiped by all. The experience starts with a journey that winds visitors through visual galleries to learn about the king’s life, descend into his tomb, and even enter a recreation of his burial chamber.
The final room greets visitors with soaring projections of King Tut’s treasures, larger than life, with the most cutting-edge clarity available, showcasing all the exquisite detail and artistry of these ancient items. The visual aspect is intertwined with mesmerizing music and a free audio tour. The Pyramids of Giza, built to endure an eternity, have done just that. All three pyramids have been standing strong since long before King Tut ascended the throne. You will learn about these pyramids and so much more. The visit will take approximately one hour with final entry one hour prior to show close. Tickets for Beyond King Tut are timed and dated. Visitors are encouraged to buy tickets in advance at beyondkingtut.com, as sellouts are expected. The show runs through January 6th.
