LITTLE GEMS

The 48th Annual Electric Christmas Parade is this Saturday, December 2nd.
Visit Lake Geneva is proud to present another year of this joyful holiday parade. Every year the community, along with so many visitors, line the streets to watch the one-of-a-kind Christmas parade. The parade will begin at 5 p.m. but be sure to get there early to mark your spot, as the parade route fills up quickly. The parade floats start the route at the intersection of Marshall and Williams Street and move down Williams and Broad Street, turning on Main Street to Cook Street. The parade route will be closed to parking after 3 p.m. Each float will be a unique magical display of this year’s theme “The Twelve Days of Christmas”. This parade is full of holiday cheer and a tradition for many families. Happy Holidays.

Wander on over to Aurora Urgent Care if you’re not feeling ship shape.
They sit over there, attached to the north-end shopping complex that holds Piggly Wiggly as its main anchor store.   Walk in and get an appointment because you can spend an hour online trying to book one there until finally, you get a screen that tells the user that Aurora Urgent Care doesn’t book by the Internet option anymore.  You get to Aurora in person.  Great.  You register. Great, but have insurance because ‘urgent care’ is not an emergency room kind of service.  No insurance and you get the revolving door treatment unless you have cash.

How about an hour’s wait when you do get an appointment?  An hour goes by. You go to the counter. “Sorry, but we had other more critical patients we had to put in front of you.”  You get to wait some more, and you can’t leave unless it’s to sit outside in your car and wait.  If you leave you are ‘toast,’ and can start the process over.  Two full hours go by until you just can’t take it anymore unless you have streaming video service on your automobile television screen.

“Tomorrow Care” should be the new name assigned to this supposedly ‘urgent’ service.  Drive to Milwaukee to any quality emergency room in a hospital there.  You’ll spend less time and very likely see a real doctor when you do, and that time taken includes driving both ways.
