LITTLE  GEMS

The season is a changing. Fall is here and with the beautiful weather, it’s hard to believe.
The warmer-than-usual temperatures are making the season very easy to enjoy. Lake Geneva is currently at 10% of its expected fall color. That is about to change as the fall color peak is only a couple of weeks away. The fourth week of October is usually full peak in Lake Geneva. The wonderful Geneva Lake offers so many great ways to enjoy the vibrant colors. Looking out across the lake gives a splendid view of all the different colors and shades of autumn.

The lake also has the best walking path that goes around the lake and has some of the most beautiful old trees along the shore that display the colors well. Get out and enjoy the colors before the leaves all fall and the cold weather sets in. No matter where you go around the lake to soak in the beauty you are sure to be pleased.

Winterfest is getting an update for its 30th anniversary this year.
The Winterfest name remains the same along with all the wonderful events, but the snow sculpting competition will go by a new name. Now called America’s Snow Sculpture Invitational it will still consist of fifteen teams competing to be the best in the country. In honor of the 30th anniversary VISIT is welcoming back previous winners to compete for this year’s title. Fifteen is the maximum because two years ago the forms were changed and are larger. Space is already being utilized to its max.

There will be three categories for judging. People’s Choice, Artist’s Choice, and a professional panel made up of experts in the snow sculpting world. The same great events including bonfires on the beach and the downtown ice sculpture walk will still be a part of Winterfest along with some new events that will be announced soon. Winterfest will run from January 29 through February 2, 2025.
