LIVING HERE

World Mental Health Day is recognized on October 10th each year.
The official theme for 2024 is ‘It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace. The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide. Even small changes can make a big difference. A simple expression of gratitude to those around you can foster quality relationships and a more positive and collaborative workplace.

The action will not only benefit the recipients but also those expressing it. Take a few moments throughout the day to pause and focus on the present. Put down the electronics and focus on being in the moment and connecting with those around you. You can spend a few minutes for deep breathing practices or meditation to clear your mind, boost your mood, and improve your overall well-being during the workday. These practices are just a few examples to consider on World Mental Health Day and beyond to enhance workplace mental health. Remember, prioritizing mental health in the workplace is not just a one-day event; it is an ongoing commitment that benefits everyone.
