LIVING HERE

The City of Lake Geneva has narrowed down the list and is getting ready to hire its new City Administrator.
The city is working with a great hiring company, and it has come through with numerous exemplary applicants. There were approximately sixty applicants, and all were potential hires. The city did narrow it down to six. The list still needed to be shortened and out of the six city officials got it down to four. This is the point where city officials and the personnel committee can conduct some interviews and make a selection. The previous city administrator David Nord retired in July and sadly passed shortly after. The interim administrator David De Angelis has filled the spot nicely but is expected to do so temporarily. It’s time for the position to be permanently filled and it looks like that will happen soon.

Badger DECA will be holding its Holiday Drive again this year.
The DECA program and participants are very active in the community and its holiday drive is one of the fabulous things it does for the community. DECA is a non-profit organization that prepares students for careers in business and management. The program is a great opportunity for students and prepares them for so many future opportunities. This holiday drive is very successful every year and the DECA kids are very appreciative of the community because without the help of others, this program would not exist. There are locations around Lake Geneva that will have a tree with handmade paper ornaments. The DECA kids are asking if you can select an ornament, shop for the listed items, and drop off gifts at the Badger High School Main Office. Each ornament represents a child in need. This is a wonderful program and is a win for all involved. The kids who receive the gifts are overjoyed and the Secret Santa that shops for the kids gets to feel good about giving back. The paper ornaments are available at the Timber Ridge Resort, Lake Geneva Walmart, Lake Geneva Library, Clearwater Outdoor, and Candle Mercantile.
