LIVING HERE
Sip ‘N Purr Fundraiser for Lakeland Animal Shelter.
Hawk’s View Golf Club is hosting this year’s event on Saturday, February 15th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. It will be a fun-filled night of great wines, beers, and gourmet food. A great silent auction, raffles, and more. Single $35, Group Of 4 Reserved Cocktail Table $200, and Group 0f 8 Reserved Table $400. Proceeds will help support the animals and help them find their forever homes. The Lakeland Animal Shelter hopes to help create a community where all lives are valued and respected. They envision achieving zero tolerance for ending the lives of savable pets in our community. They annually accept approximately 2,500 stray or neglected animals that have been found within Walworth County and need the community’s support to help them with their mission.
The Hillmoor Commission takes full form, and it looks to be a great form.
Led by Todd Krause, the chairman and mayor of the city, the Hillmoor Commission consists of the following players, or members: Michael Krajovic, paid consultant, and members Ken Etten, Mark Davids, Dan Ketzen, Larry Happ, Paula Porubcan, Peggy Scheinder, and Lowell Thompson, with Cindy Yager from the city council as a participant/observer. A very qualitative and quantitative grouping of intelligent citizens indeed. Also, of note, and it’s a big note, comments from the public limited to five minutes each will return (it was taken away by the former Hillmoor committee). That’s a wonderful nod to the public that this commission is serious, open, and very much motivated to make that property into something everyone in the community, and outside of it, can be proud of. Mayor Krause had everything to do with forming. this committee, staffing it, and then choosing the perfect people to work with him on coming to a great conclusion. Local leadership can be more gifted than national.
