LITTLE GEMS

There is one, and only one, indoor flea market located in the county.
That market is the Barnyard Bargain Bonanza at the Walworth County Fairgrounds. Located in the heated Activity Center on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hosted by and proceeds benefit the award-winning agriculture education area of the Walworth County Fair, Barnyard Adventure. This is a favorite exhibit for kids and families. The booths will be filled with great treasures and delicious treats. Bring your appetite because the Barnyard Adventure team will feature a delicious food booth, featuring homemade barbecue sandwiches, soup, treats, homemade pies, and more. As always parking and admission are free.

What’s the good news lately, not often discussed?
How about impact fees being collected from developers again, long after Mayor Jim Conners dived right into the developer’s pockets years ago and got rid of them?  How about no more talking about the insanity of even considering building a $51,000,000 fire station right at the foot of Symphony Bay to service the area in a ‘modernized’ fashion? Wisely, the police and fire commission, not to mention the fire chief himself, flushed that idea right down the proverbial toilet.

Two coffee shops are coming to Lake Geneva to support the existing facilities. Hawaiian coffee will be served!  Finally! “Hippy” coffee atmosphere will also be coming to entertain all of wildly right-wing Walworth County. One good thing that the former mayor, Charlene Klein, contributed to no thanks at all during her term should be brought back. Galas are to be held at the Riviera facility on a regular celebratory basis. The city and the residents around the lake need to party more and argue less…or at least go to great gala parties and argue after drinking copious amounts of liquids that induce wild and woolly discussions.
