LIVING HERE

Potholes, you ask.  “We can’t find them.”
That’s the word that comes out of city leadership when, once again, confronted about the three giant and ever-deepening potholes so many times pointed out and photographed by the reporters of the Geneva Shore Report over the past few months.  What did the city do?  They did not send workers out to at least temporarily fill these holes, one and all blatantly apparent when driving east and west through the middle of Lake Geneva on Main Street, no, instead they send workers out to spray paint them yellow?

Did the workers do that to make the potholes more visible so motorists might avoid them?  No.

Not according to city officials.  “They painted the potholes so they would be easier for city workers to find!”  Saturday Night Live does not have this good lot of material.  One must be left to wonder how the city workers with the yellow spray cans found the potholes without them being marked first. Has there been any city program to test the city’s water for lead content?  The first and permanent symptom of lead poisoning is a decrease in cognitive function.

No, channel 25 is still not allowing sound transmission to come through when the channel is tuned into to watch city meetings in Lake Geneva.
What a truly galvanic shock!  Every week, and then through the months, and now the years, the city has been unable to get Spectrum to hook up the sound.  What is wrong with foregoing Channel 25 presentations and having the city budget for the purchase of tin cans and string?  Soon, maybe, the city administrator will issue an ‘Epstein statement,’ indicating that there is and never was a channel 25 at all.  The only question, if channel 25 was ever ‘alive’, is whether it was murdered or committed suicide.
