OUR PLACE
Halloween is only two weeks away.
Fall fun and October traditions are well underway. Pearce’s Farm Stand has fall fun every day. The farm stand grounds are filled with haybales, corn stalks, photo ops, and, of course, pumpkins. Pearce’s is a favorite stop for so many, but fall is when it really shows its vibrant colors. The corn maze is an event in itself and very popular. Make sure to stop in and pick up some pumpkins, mums, produce, and soak in the season before it closes for the season.
Of course, with fall and Halloween, there needs to be something spooky. Starting in October, Dan Patch Stables has it covered every year. Located at the Grand Geneva grounds, Dan Patch Stables offers the haunted barn and its haunted hayrides for the whole family. This year, they have added more spook. Check it out online at danpatchstables.com.
The month of October is a perfect time to book a Lake Geneva Ghost Walk Downtown and Lake Front Tour. The tour is a spooky, fun guided walk through Lake Geneva, and learn the haunted history and ghost stories of this legendary town. The big Lake City Social Trunk or Treat event is Sunday, October 26th, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Lake City Social does a great job with this event, filling its back parking lot with so many vendors who go all out with costumes and decorations. Candy is passed out at each stand along with other fun little treats. There is a big tent in the center with more Halloween fun. Music is playing, some live entertainment from local performers, and of course, some festive treats for the adults are available. Finally, the City of Lake Geneva will have its Trick or Treating Sunday, October 26th, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. With October half over, there isn’t much time left to enjoy the fall activities, as soon as Halloween concludes, everything switches to the Christmas Holiday season.
The season has changed, and fall is here.
Lake Geneva is just over 25% of its expected fall color. That is about to change as fall color is about to start popping. The third or fourth week of October is typically full peak in Lake Geneva. The wonderful Geneva Lake offers so many great ways to enjoy the vibrant colors. Looking out across the lake gives a splendid view of all the different colors and shades of autumn. The lake also has the best walking path that goes around the lake and has some of the most beautiful old trees along the shore that display the colors well. Get out and enjoy the colors before the leaves all fall and the cold weather really sets in. No matter where you go around the lake to soak in the beauty, you are sure to be pleased.
