SURPRISING STUFF
The Lake Geneva Community Survey is now open.
Now is your chance to tell them what your ideas are for the future of Lake Geneva. How do you want Lake Geneva to look in 5-10 years? What do you like and not like about the city? As part of Lake Geneva’s strategic planning initiative, the city is hosting a two-session Think-Tank Workshop. Participants will explore emerging macro trends and key drivers shaping Lake Geneva’s future and craft four plausible future scenarios for the city. This will be an engaging and interactive scenario-planning workshop that will take place on Thursday, January 8, and Saturday, January 10.
Although it is not required that you attend both sessions, it is highly recommended, as the second session builds on the first. The first session will take place at the Riviera from 9 a.m. to noon. The first part of the City of Lake Geneva Strategic Action Plan Think-Tank will consist of a presentation of macro trends that could impact Lake Geneva, followed by driver identification and build-out, and then ranking of the individual drivers.
The second session will take place at the Lake Geneva Middle School Cafeteria from 9 a.m. to noon. The second part of the Think-Tank will build upon the results of the first and include brainstorming about the future of Lake Geneva: scenario narrative development, presentations, and plausibility checks, followed by mapping of the Least Desired, Expected, and Preferred Futures. Registration for both sessions is available on the city website.
