OUR PLACE

The first-ever Hillmoor Commission was held almost one year ago.
A lot has happened on the iconic Hillmoor property since the purchase of the Hillmoor property to the start of the ad hoc, then the commission, to now, and staying informed is important to so many residents. The Hillmoor Commission is made up of seven residents, Mark Davids, Kenneth Ettan, Dan Getzen, Larry Happ, Paula Porubcan, Peggy Schneider, and Lowell Thompson, who are all voting members. Mayor Krause, Alderperson Cindy Yager, and Consultant Michael Krajovic are non-voting members of the commission.

There are several things the commission has been looking at, including strategic and master planning of the property, evaluation and implementation of potential projects, grant submission, gathering facts on potential projects, reviewing resident and city official input on potential uses of the property, comparing similar uses already in action in other communities, providing reports when requested by the city council and the residents of the city, and fundraising, just to name a few.

Lake Geneva residents received a notice in recent water bills regarding this newsletter. The notice included a QR code and the park director’s email, making it quick and easy to sign up for the newsletter. The Hillmoor Newsletter will include updates and progress on the park. Public input opportunities, concept plans, surveys, key decisions, and milestones will all be highlighted. There will also be a Parks and Pathways Newsletter keeping the public informed on what’s happening with Lake Geneva’s parks. New playgrounds, trail updates, programs, and volunteer opportunities will be included in this newsletter.

Don’t miss this opportunity to discover what’s happening across Lake Geneva’s Parks.
