Little Gems

Discover Wisconsin:
Recently Lake Geneva has been highlighted, awarded, and featured for being what it is, a beautiful, relaxing, and fun place to live and visit. A couple of the newest acknowledgments are from the Journal Sentinel which named Lake Geneva one of the top five fall getaways in Wisconsin. Lake Geneva was also chosen as Wisconsin’s top Staycation in momlife.com’s article “50 Amazing Staycations by State.” This is a big deal.

With all the attention, it’s only fitting that the airing of the documentary Discover Wisconsin’s Lake Geneva; “Along the Beaten Path” airs this weekend, September 21st and 22nd. Discover Wisconsin TV airs in eight states across the Midwest. Check out their broadcast guide to find out when you can catch the show.

The sister city idea has wormed its way into the psychology (or maybe pathology) of the GSR staff.
What would be the public’s idea of a great city to pair up with, out there in the world? Quito Ecuador, Geneva Switzerland, Melbourne Australia, Lahina on Maui, Lake Como in Italy and Burlington, Vermont…were all suggested. Write, email, call or visit staff out on the street to give your own choice. Havana, Cuba sounded kind of cool (from the janitor) too.

Person of the Week

911 Dispatcher

Rita is a wonderful lady that keeps the city safe as a 911 dispatcher during the day but by night is the host of the Lake Geneva Ghost Walk. She makes the experience worth checking out.
