OUR PLACE
The list of those Wisconsin citizens who signed fake elector papers and had them officially submitted.
These Wisconsin republicans signed the bogus and, apparently, fraudulent, elector certificates that were to be substituted for the real ones. The real ones, those electors signing because they were appointed to follow the voting instructions provided by the results of the electoral decision by the elections commissions around the state, were thankfully delivered to Washington and used to confirm the person who was legally elected to replace Donald Trump. That was, of course, Joseph Biden.
The people who hoped to substitute fake election results (and thereby hope to throw the election to Donald Trump) failed in that endeavor, and now face charges of fraud, deceit and quite possibly attempting to overthrow the legal government of the United States.
Those ten Wisconsin republicans are Andrew Hitt, Kelly Ruh, Carol Brunner, Edward Scott Grabins, Bill Fehan, Kathy Kiernan, Darryl Carlsen Paul Travis, and Mary Bueatrin. Do you know any of those people? It is a shame that some people are making it their business to subvert the seemingly most sound and best operating democracy on the planet, but there they are, hard at it.
The primary election for mayor will be held in the City of Lake Geneva next week. The city clerk, the comptroller, the treasurer, the city administrator, and the remainder of the clerical staff will all be involved in counting and then presenting the results of the vote. These people reached and then have held their positions out of accumulated and hard-earned trust. The system of democracy works only when such trusted people unless found to not be trustworthy, are hired, endorsed, and then supported in their work. Citizens who vote and then are found to have voted for the losing candidate, do not get to simply falsify the records and declare their candidate the winner.
Additional funds were requested at the public works meeting last week for the 2022 street improvement project.
Sidewalk improvements have been needed for some time in Lake Geneva and are finally on the city’s list of things to do. It took complaints from residents and visitors in order for the safety and quality of Lake Geneva’s sidewalks to be noticed and taken seriously. Sidewalk quality may seem like a petty issue, but the safety of all those walking on them regularly, or for just an occasional stroll, skate, or run is a big deal.
The safety of residents is important, and the city is responsible for that safety, so if the improvements don’t get done it could pay a lot more money in claims than the repairs might cost. When it comes to visitors, Lake Geneva needs to keep them safe and impressed as Lake Geneva is a tourist city, and if that is to continue effort needs must be made to keep Lake Geneva a thriving vacation destination.
Many of the residential sidewalks, the walks near the library, and along the lakeshore in library park, are on the list and the work will be started as soon as this spring. The sidewalks on Wrigley Drive are pushed back until a later time as the decision on what the repairs all entail and how deep does the city wants to dive. The sidewalks along the Lake Side and the Restaurant side are built in a unique configuration, and if too much is done or changed the road may need to be redone as well. The council felt this was an appropriate project for the community to have input in and the idea of a public input meeting is set to be scheduled. The thought of ripping up all of Wrigley in front of Speedo’s Harborside Grill, Popeyes, and the Oak Fire Grill are daunting when considering how upset the operators of those businesses might react.
