LIVING HERE

Riviera rentals are up and continue to keep moving in that direction.
Stephanie Copsey, the very successful Event Coordinator for Lake Geneva at the Riviera, is very impressed with the influx of rentals coming in. Stephanie has given the Riviera staff and security personnel a heads up on the news and the upcoming busy season. The goal was to be completely booked Friday through Sunday every weekend of 2022 and the goal is looking achievable. This also means Lake Geneva hotels and businesses will likely be favorably impacted and gain some financial rewards. Stephanie Copsey confirms with renters three months before planned event dates, in order to finalize details and vendors.

At this time, she will include dialing into where the events quests are staying and if they’re not staying locally then finding out why not. The goal of the Riviera rentals is to provide a beautiful event venue and make each event special for the client and quests. Stephanie Copsey continues to do a great job for the city and for Lake Geneva tourism.

Expanding the Business Improvement District (BID) boundaries in and around Lake Geneva’s business district is a bit of a new concept.
This idea has been suggested several times throughout the last year by the publisher of the Geneva Shore Report. The February meeting of the BID formally discussed the idea and agreed it was high time that expansion was investigated. The BID currently covers Geneva Street to Wrigley Drive and Cook Street up to the intersection at Wells Street. The BID does not have any set plans to how far it would expand but is considering expanding further on Wells Street and further north on Broad Street past Geneva Street. The BID is funded through taxes collected from the businesses that reside in the district and was created to create a thriving beautiful and involved business district. With more members and more revenue, the BID could do more and be more for the city. The BID hosts several events throughout the year and believes the entire city and tourism community benefit from the work it does so why shouldn’t more be included in making it all happen. Ideas will be brainstormed, and discussions will continue at future meetings.  The Geneva Shore Report vitally supports increasing the BID district and all the way out to include the big box stores up and down Edwards Boulevard.  It’s high time the city stopped being so dependent upon property taxes and parking fees to survive.

A dinner and dance for the residents of Inspiration Ministries on Wednesday, February 23rd from 4-8 pm.
The Belfry Theatre located in Delavan has graciously donated its venue for the event. TLC cleaning service, Inc. is a family-run business. Matt and Wendy Hansen bought TLC three years ago, prior to owning Hansen Cleaning since 1998. They are community-minded and have been affiliated with Inspiration Ministries for many years. They are very much behind this charity event. The Inspiration story is a wonderful story as there are over 70 adults with special needs who currently live there. The Wednesday night event is sure to provide fun, music, food, and a grand show of love and support. You can show your support for Inspiration Ministries, the people and businesses who support them, and the residents who live there, by heading to downtown Lake Geneva and having a coffee or specialty drink from the Inspired Coffee Shop.
