Lake Geneva’s Eighth Beachside Authorfest will be held in Library Park, on Saturday, July 9th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This event, hosted by the Friends of the Library and Breadloaf Books, gets bigger and better every year. Over half the authors attending this year’s event are new to Authorfest. The event will host over thirty authors who will present their work in a ‘meet and greet format.’ Each author will have his or her own booth and will be selling and signing the books, along with discussing the works. Even though the event is being held outside on the library grounds guest will still be able to visit and see the newly renovated library. Guest musicians will also be performing throughout the day to help set the mood and atmosphere for a relaxing good time. Come out to support the local authors while enjoying a beautiful view of the lake.

Construction on westbound Highway 50 heading towards Delavan is expected to start around this week beginning July 5th.
The WIS 50 project will take place on Highway 50 in the Town of Delavan and the City of Lake Geneva. The project will take place from Geneva National Avenue to Forest Street which is approximately five miles of construction. Highway 50 is scheduled to be resurfaced including mil and asphalt overlay of the existing pavement surface. This new treatment will improve the surface and extend the life of the roadway. There will also be culvert repairs neat Theatre Road and Geneva Street, a new beam guard, shoulder gravel replacement, the addition of shoulder rumble strips, and new stripping. Traffic will be alternating sides from eastbound and westbound with flaggers directing traffic. Side roads and driveway access will remain open and one lane will always be open during construction. Construction is expected to be complete by mid-November.
