LIVING HERE

Library Park will be a sea of purple this Saturday September 17th.
The 2022 “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” Walworth County event opens at 8:30 a.m.  The opening ceremony goes down at 9:40 a.m., and the walk will begin at 10:00 a.m. Lake Geneva is honored to have this meaningful event centered inside its own Library Park on Main Street. This is the first year that the event will be held in person since the pandemic. Health and safety are top priorates and anyone more comfortable with walking from home may certainly still participate by doing so. There are two routes for the walk in Walworth County. The most popular is the Lake Geneva Lakeshore Path which, is a little bumpy and unpaved in places and the part of the path being designated for the walk is approximately 3.2 miles in length. The second route is an easier option, and runs through the Historic District in Lake Geneva, with a total distance approaching one mile, without bumpy or broken parts over the course of its travel.

All funds raised through the walk go to further care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. There is no registration fee to walk, however every participant is asked for a personal donation and a commitment to raising funds in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Every registered participant who raises a minimum of $100 gets a T-shirt. For more information and registration details go to www.act.alz.org.
