THE BRIGHT SIDE
Lieutenant Gritzner is set to officially take over as Chief of the City of Lake Geneva Police Department on January 1, 2023. This means that, until the end of the year, Chief Rasmussen is still chief on paper with Gritzner acting as chief on his behalf. This is how the process is normally done when Rasmussen is gone or on vacation, so the department is still running smoothly. To help make the transition as seamless as possible Lieutenant Gritzner has applied for a chief mentor grant which was approved meaning a chief from another city in Wisconsin will be coming to the City of Lake Geneva to shadow and work with Gritzner. The police department has also been working on team building exercises to assist in helping them be the best police officers possible to serve their community and residents. Gritzner is also moving forward with the body cams and will be applying for a third grant to help cover costs associated with them to help offset the budget from the city.
The budget for the body cams, software and additional staffing has been sent to the city and is expected to be approved without any issues or concerns. The police force is excited about the body cams to help protect them and the public alike. The City of Lake Geneva police department has a lot to look forward to in 2023 and we are excited to see all the wonderful ideas Lieutenant Gritzner will bring to the department and city.
