OUR PLACE

Thanksgiving is almost here (the 24th of November).
Preparations are being made, donations have been collected, and plans are underway for The Walworth County Thanksgiving Dinner. This wonderful community tradition has been around for almost two decades and the tradition continues this year. The meal will be on Thanksgiving Thursday, November 24th, at The Water’s Edge on Delevan Lake between 11 a.m. through 2 p.m. If you are unable to make it and would like meals, then they can be picked up or delivered between 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

If delivery is needed reservations can be made after Tuesday, November 1st, by calling 262-749-4621. A lot of work goes into making this complimentary meal possible and the work is all done by volunteers. This is what Thanksgiving is all about and the efforts and giving of all those involved should not go unnoticed, and they certainly are not, not by the Geneva Shore Report.

The mass media insanity about reporting gasoline prices. A supposedly critical election is coming in less than a week, so some credit must be given for distorted reporting that is going on all over the place, as candidates say the most awful things about each other, much of it lies, but the price of gasoline would seem to be mostly about factual presentation simply because it’s so graphically portrayed day in and day out on large signs all over every city and town across the nation.  In Wisconsin, the average price of gasoline, as the GSR goes to print, is just under $3.50 a gallon, way down from just over five dollars more than a month ago.  This price is about the same amount as the average across the nation except in Hawaii and California where the price is still running just over $5.00 a gallon.  The mass media, including Fox, CNN, MSNBC, and the networks all have been showing gas station price signs in the background, as the reporters tell the truth about the descent of this vital energy product in price.  Those signs, however, almost without fail, show prices of over seven dollars a gallon, which they did rise to many months ago in small havens in parts of gas starved regions.  This is disingenuous and favors the political party not in office.  This kind of behavior has come to be expected in coming from the political parties and their supporters.  There’s no longer any integrity left there but more is, and should be, some expected of the mass media.  What a shame the public has to kneel before this rotten altar of deliberate artifice and scamming
