OUR PLACE

Oral Roberts comes to Lake Geneva.
That can be the only explanation that makes any sense at all.  Oral Roberts services may well be held at the semi-religious gambling edifice (coupled with shots of Jägermeister and mugs of Miller beer) called Fat Cats.  The Care Bear was in attendance there, likely because this last Sunday was a really big day for the NFL football playoffs and the “Bear” was likely needed to be there to manage and monitor the very alleged betting going on.  The only legal sports book in the State of Wisconsin is stipulated by law to be at the Oneida gambling casino up in the northern part of the region around Green Bay. That leaves the rest of the statewide open to those who do not want to make that trip or deal with distant gambling workers.

The “Bear,” when encountered outside the establishment named Fat Cats, was interviewed (a very short ‘interview’ at that) on Sunday morning.  She was adamant that the Geneva Shore Report was lying about her and also in stating that we could also use her picture in the paper at any time.  The GSR is complying with her request, although the reporter she encountered did ask her a question that she did not respond to.

“If the GSR is lying about the gambling, and your part in it, then what exactly are you doing up in Lake Geneva, way up from the Triangle Bar area you are from down in Twin Lakes, at Fat Cats, at nine o’clock on a Sunday morning?”  Failing to answer that question, the Care Bear retired back into the Fat Cats establishment where the GSR staff is not welcome (to put it mildly).  An assumptive answer was finally come to by the GSR staff at an editorial meeting held on Monday morning following the encounter.  The universal conclusion, accepting the Care Bear’s word on the surface, was that the Bear, being a Christian, had come to town not to gamble or make book but to attend a faith-healing event held at Fat Cats in the name and under the conduct of followers of Oral Roberts.  Parts of the Fat Cat’s event were not printable material for the newspaper, so the editors decided to leave those parts to the imagination of the readers.  Whatever is going on at Fat Cats on early weekend mornings has got to be something dealing with faith and great continuing beliefs that positive results are going to be returned.  Of that much the editorial staff is certain. The causal ‘prime mover’ conduct going on inside the establishment remains mostly unknown.
