SURPRISING STUFF
Mr. Livingston, I presume.
This special man is running in a special race for supervisor this year. The race for this supervisor’s seat is a quiet one, simply because there’s not much else going on that might bring voters to the voting booths, or even to mail in ballots early. The disadvantage, in a rural area, for a person running in such a quiet time is the more remote property owners, and their inability to make it back to vote, from wherever they might be. Many of the real taxpayers living in the Town of Linn are not around at this time of the year, and a whole lot of not so real taxpayers (many of whom get more in farm subsidies than they pay in taxes) can sway the vote to the point where what happened two years ago can happen again.
Town of Linn was almost lost because the real ‘owners’ of the township were away, and it didn’t seem important enough for them to return to vote. Pay attention. Those people are still around, and they don’t, and aren’t going anywhere.
Vote Jim Livingston back in and continue the kind of wonderful and lovely community everyone has in Linn on into the future.
The first day of spring is on Monday, March 20th.
Most people are ready for it, and all of us whole live in Southern Wisconsin can only hope that mother nature got the memo. This is the time of year when signs of rebirth are everywhere. The ground, whether it’s still covered in snow, still melting, is softening and clearing. Instead of snow, a regular rain will begin soon, while rising temperatures will start fostering the regrowth of all plant life that’s lain mostly dormant all winter. Tulips are planted by many people and their rising up is one of the first signs of spring. With spring, and the rebirth it allows, there also is a time of rejuvenation for almost everyone, as the winter ‘hibernation’ comes to an end.
Wisconsin weather can be very unpredictable, but time is on everyone’s side. The spring season may start out rough, but history shows it always cooperates in the end. The ‘rivers’ of moisture that have kept striking an inundating so much of California. Have all made their way across the nation, causing plenty of trouble and hardship in Wisconsin. As in the song lyrics, however: “…here comes the sun.”
