LITTLE GEMS

The first payment is due for the reconstruction roadwork being done on Marianne Terrace and Pine Tree along South Shore Drive.
The city council wasn’t all onboard paying this bill. The project was approved last fall and the work was started as planned. Alderperson Fesenmaier believed the plan to finance the project needed to be sent back to the finance, license, and regulation committee for recommendation before the council can vote to make the payment. The city attorney and Mayor Mayor stated that proper procedure was followed and the vote to make the payment could take place. Fesenmaier was supported by other alderpersons but, in the end, more alderperson’s believed the city needed to pay its bills as planned and on time.

Was the request by Fesenmaier to send the issue back to the finance, license, and regulation committee a play to bring up the inability for standing and non-standing committees to meet due to the mayoral appointees not being accepted by some of the alderpersons and the unconcerned and unrushed attitude the mayor is displaying (normally referred to as a ‘pout’). Is this all a control for power between city council president Fesenmaier and Mayor Mayor?

The lack of any committee meetings may be considered a break for some, but agenda items are piling up, projects needing approval are at a standstill, and catch up is going to be hectic.  Mayor Mayor needs to get her professional acts together and stop hurting the city because she’s mad as hell.

The terrifically wonderful Lake Geneva Farmer’s Market is back.
It’s now official that the spring and summer season is here, even if the weather is not cooperating. The Lake Geneva Farmers Market starts Thursday, May 4th. Every Thursday, of every week, through October, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. everyone can look forward to the unique craft vendors, the beautiful flower stands, and of course the fresh produce that becomes available in season. This opening also indicates that most of the other wonderful farmers markets in the area are opening for the season.

The Lake Geneva Outdoor Market on Highway H, at Tommi’s Garden and Bloom, will be open this Sunday morning, May 7th, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Soon, the delightful Williams Bay Farmers Market in Edge Water Park will be opening for the season. Starting Friday, May 26th, and every Friday after through October, it will join the list of outdoor markets in the area open for fun and business.
