Fresh homegrown vegetables are one of the perks of summer. Many people grow their own in small gardens, others go to farmers markets, which are in abundance in this area, and some utilize the plethora of vegetable stands that are all strewn about Walworth County. These roadside vegetable stands operate on the honesty system. After all the hard work of prepping the land, planting the seeds, maintaining the garden, and nurturing the plants for the outcome of a healthy harvest, the profit margin if any for these farmers is minimal. When driving down the road on a beautiful summer day enjoying the ruralness most Wisconsinites love and come across a vegetable stand full of yummy summer goodness do stop and pick up a little or a lot of the offerings, but please be honest and appreciate what it takes to make this taste of summer available to you and pay for what you take.
