SMALL GEMS
The new park manager position turns into Park Superintendent.
The modified job description and requirements changed into paygrade “J” in Lake Geneva, while the requirement of having to have a college degree also went away. Now, the foolishly idiotic idea of having a potential specialist Ph.D. working for a high school graduate bites the dust. That changes were made to the documents between the time they were voted on by the Personnel committee and the approval by the city council is another area of broken city governmental policies that needs much more attention and work.
Mayor Mayor and Joanie, the Diner are running Lake Geneva without obeying some wonderfully old and effective policies and programs, simply because they want to. Meanwhile, the city attorney merely rubber stamps whatever they demand. Watching from the sidelines can be frustrating, especially when one has been around Lake Geneva city government for many years.
Cobalt.
Cobalt is the brand of a very expensive boat, many of which are owned by the residents of and visitors to Geneva Lake. Some of the newer expensive boats like the popular Cobalt have key fobs instead of actual keyed ignitions. Two Cobalt boats were taken out for apparent joy rides last weekend from very near to where Larry Larkin’s beautiful home sits on the eastern shore of the lake. Both boats were recovered without apparent damage to them.
The police report is not yet available to the media about the details of the incidents. Both boats, however, were up on lifts, which served as little protection. Boat owners around Geneva Lake should not leave keys or fobs in the boats themselves. The GSR will report more when the police release the investigative information.
