THE BRIGHT SIDE

Save the kittens.
There is no question that the Dancing Horses Theatre located at 5065 Highway 50 in Delavan is an amazing attraction. This is a huge attraction for locals and many visitors to Lake Geneva seek out this very entertaining one-of-a-kind show. The show includes some of the best horses that truly dance with the guidance of talented trainers. The show varies from season to season with the magical Holiday Show performing right now. With all this being said there is another aspect in question. The theatre is on the Animal Gardens Theme Park grounds. This 40-acre venue has different animals, some exotic from time to time. There have been questions regarding the care of these animals.

The baby animal barn is one of the favorites to visit before and after the show. The most recent concern is for the kittens in the barn. The kittens are of course adorable and ewe and awed over by all the visitors, but are they being taken care of properly? A family recently attended the show and fell in love with a couple of kittens afterward. The options to purchase the kittens for $200 and $300 were available. The experience did not sit well with the family and took the concern to a popular Facebook page asking for input and others’ experience with purchasing kittens from the show.

They were told by the employees that they sell many kittens but that the kittens are not able to leave the grounds until the holiday show ends in January. The comments poured in over three hundred. Many of the comments in response were very positive for the Dancing Horses Show but were not positive for Animal Gardens. Many are questioning why anyone would pay that kind of money for a kitten. The idea of leaving the kittens behind to be an exhibit did not feel right and raised concerns with many who commented. There were also comments on the health of the kittens and whether they had the proper immunizations and deworming required. A few did support the Dancing Horses and Animal Gardens owner and staff and defended the care of the kittens and the adoption process and purchase of the kittens. This is not the first time the owner has been questioned about the care of the animals on the property and some feel it needs to be looked into further.
