It’s been a whirlwind season for the Packers.
A hot start by Jordan Love inspired hope that the transition away from Aaron Rodgers would be a quick one, but then he hit some serious bumps. Things took a turn this past Sunday, however. The Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings played a Week 17 primetime showdown on “Sunday Night Football,” with playoff implications on the line. The Packers came out ready to fight for a win and dominated the Vikings, 33-10. Jordan Love threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns and had a rushing TD to lead the Packers to a victory that put Green Bay in position for an NFC wild-card spot should they beat the Bears next week. And then there’s Sean Clifford, Penn State’s all-time most winning and successful quarterback of all time.
Should Love weaken, then there stands that man in the waiting. He came into the Packer game when the game was already won to show what he could do and show it he did. His 32-yard pass at the end was a rifled spiral right on target, that pass sealing the win. Love ran the ball in for one of the Packer touchdowns, and he was roughed up quite a bit on the tackle. But there’s Sean behind him, just waiting. The Packers are THE team to watch in the NFL and next year’s going to be a barnburner.
