OUR DAMAGED NATION-STATE

By James Strauss

The time of the nation-state has not passed. We are led to believe that international communications, shipping, and closer relationships are slowly squeezing almost all countries of the world into a coming one-world order. Yet, in reality, nothing could be further from the truth. The world is being sold the idea that we should be turning away from the idea of the nation states and the necessary reasons they exist. The Flat Earth concept as put forward by William Friedman in his bestselling book, the continued coverage of American imperialism as if it is serving the needs of the other countries we attack, and the quiet full-court press of outsourcing the highest paying jobs overseas are portrayed by the mass media as supporting how we exist merely as a part of the whole. That the United States is but a small integrated piece of a world puzzle we must all become accustomed to, and therefore U.S. citizens should accept less so those with less may have more.

Should Americans fall for this line of reasoning?

Not if America wants to continue to prosper, grow, and lead a world that proves almost daily that it is incompetent in leading itself, at the very least as a whole coordinated set of entities.

The application of the one world order, if closely examined, reveals anything but the enrichment of poor people in foreign countries. No, it is about the further enrichment of the wealthy. Trickle down, the favorite words and policy of the Reagan administration didn’t work when tax breaks were given to the wealthy in the U.S., and those wealthy were expected to ‘trickle down’ the money to the less fortunate. They didn’t do it!

They took the money and began preparing to return America to a time of real slavery and bond servants. Trickle-down does not work in other countries either. The disparity of wealth is huge in China and India. Most of the money going into those countries, in trade for cheaply made goods, is going straight into the coffers of the wealthy there or being returned to wealthy origins in the U.S., most of whom own the companies built in the Orient to avoid paying minimum wages and environmental concerns.

A successful nation-state is the only defense of thinking, caring, and responsive humans. Only on a localized national basis can truly local problems be recognized, considered, and then solved if not eliminated. China did not and does not care about 9/11, Katrina, or any of the disasters that befall this nation-state of the USA. The people of China are not even informed of such events. And the events of great vital interest that occur there?  They don’t make it into our evening news back here either. The same self-interest that drives the nation-states of the world apart also allows for their more effective survival back home.

The United States, at this very time, is heading into troubled political waters in attempting to deal with nation-state appreciation and holding the country together.  It’s supporting two wars abroad and fighting through surrogates a third.  Its immigration situation is completely and fraudulently framed by one political party (the country needs more immigrants not less, as the population of the indigenous countryside continues to not only grow too old to support the workforce but is not maintaining reproduction parity).  The single biggest problem facing the U.S. and the other nation-states of the world, however, is the media.

Today’s news media, through the Internet, television, radio, and newspapers is struggling to economically survive and in throwing all caution to the winds, is being forced to only show or print material that is outrageously attention-getting without any respect for honesty, integrity, or truth.  If the nations of the world are only fed attractive lies, then it’s only a matter of time before those nation-states discussed in this article descend into the control of those state’s dumbest and most mentally damaged individuals.  The particular nation-state of the USA is not likely to fail because of nuclear or conventional war, pestilence, starvation, or even because of the effects of global warming.

It’s becoming ever more evident that it’s likely to fail because of the entire population being fed horse manure disguised as news, and then chomping down on it as if it’s the highest quality of prime rib.
