LITTLE GEMS
They will not go quietly into that cold, dark night.
The former mayor didn’t want to leave her former duty station, office, or chair position in the council chambers. Joanie the Diner hung on until the very end, still trying to chair the short-term rentals committee even after the results of her resounding defeat in the election and the formal swearing-in of her replacement. They, along with their close ‘wolf pack,’ but more like a rabbit warren of supporters are not going out kicking and screaming. No, they are going out smoldering with resentment and hatred, not toward the electorate that tossed them out on their bare behinds but the people who were elected in their place, and the Geneva Shore Report for helping in that regard.
The GSR staff, of course, lives and breathes staying just above a seething mass of approval waves topped by white caps of unadulterated hatred. It is the nature of the beast and the working staff and owner accept that as being part of the price of trying…trying like hell to give the public a view of things coming, and in the planning, as well as critical commentary about the things being built underway and also those things finished…in more ways than one.
The public brought in new leaders who could also take the heat. Todd Krause, digging in like a pit bull, and Sheri Ames is already throwing fastballs over the place, with veterans Fesenmaier, Frame, and Yeager, right there with her either in the bullpen or coming in to save the game. This new team, selected by a public that was and is paying attention, has nothing to fear from the shattered wreck of the formers, who figured they were in a stock car race but found out too late that they were facing Formula One drivers and equipment.
