Apple Barn is all about fresh fruit and fresh air. The Apple Barn Orchard & Winery is located at W6384 Sugar Creek Road in Elkhorn. The Apple Barn is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. but it’s good to check ahead of time as strawberry picking is weather dependent and availability varies. What about the ‘war’ effects of taking property that others have claimed and held for many years?
Bloomfield has got to be mad as hell that they had a great chunk of their property taken, and it’s to be developed by a real estate developer which will allow Lake Geneva to profit mightily while Bloomfield gets nothing. Annexation has no compensation attached to its process. How mad are the citizens of the Town of Linn, as their huge parcel, once owned by Mirabel Hummell, at the sound end of Lake Geneva was taken without any sort of apology or money changing hands? Ireland/Great Britain, Scotland/Great Britain, Greece/Turkey, Israel/Palestine.
Those land grabs have been memorable, just like these annexations, as some people win, and some people lose. Is the almost never-ending rancor of the ‘losers’ worth, through the years, what might have been gained over the short term? History would give all of us a clue if it was studied as closely and often as it should be. The answer is a definitive no.
