THE BRIGHT SIDE

We are well into summer and Geneva Lake is the place to be.
Boat, kayak, and water safety in general is always a good idea to review. Stay safe while on the lake for yourself and others enjoying the day. Before heading out for a day on your boat make sure the plug is in, the battery is charged, fuel up, and most importantly make sure there are enough life jackets for everyone in the boat. Geneva Lake gets extremely busy on beautiful summer days so prepare yourself for the frustration that may bring. Not all boaters on the lake are experienced and some are a little altered so be ready for some challenges. Non-experienced boaters, which Lake Geneva has many with all the boat rentals that go on, may not know all the rules of the lake and unintentionally cause a scare.

There are more than just boats on the lake to watch out for there are several different forms of watercraft on the water. There have been requests from paddle boarders, kayakers, and skiers out on the water for boats to slow down near or in the buoys. There have been incidents of paddleboarders and kayakers flipping due to the unneeded speed of boats. Slow no wake buoys mean exactly what they say and need to be obeyed as do all rules of the water for everyone’s safety. An unnecessary incident and possible injury can ruin everyone’s good time. Geneva Lake is a very busy lake with many different forms of activity going on at most times and it’s important to look out for each other. Be safe and enjoy the rest of summer.

The Geneva Shore Report doesn’t cover much in national politics, but things changed once again.
Biden quits and that means it is now very likely that Donald Trump will be president again.  The 2025 project, a treatise written by most of Trump’s inner circle supporters, goes right after reducing social security, Medicare, Medicaid, veteran’s benefits, and even all farm subsidies, is a document that is shameful in its presentation and hoped-for installation in this coming republican regime.  If you are affected by any of those programs, then you should feel a little shiver of fear.  The top democrats in media and politics abandoned Biden and the billionaires have also stepped up (Musk is contributing 45 million a month to Trump).

To quote a great screenplay line from the movie Outlaw Josey Wales, “Hell is coming to breakfast.” Political hell and wild times at the coming democratic convention, that’s almost certain.  The interest for this coming election is skyrocketing with the Democrats collecting contributions hand over fist and the Republicans trying to regroup an effort that was all set and planned to go after a failing older man.  Meanwhile, VP Harris racing around like a cat on fire.  Maybe the cable and regular news shows will become interesting again instead of only being filled with hate and vituperation.
