LITTLE GEMS
It’s time once again to make nominations for VISIT Lake Geneva’s Impact Awards.
This is the 50th anniversary of the Impact Awards honoring those who have made a positive or significant impact on and for the Lake Geneva community. Members of the community are invited to nominate a person, business, or organization in any of the five awards categories: Outstanding Citizen, Business of the Year, Community Betterment, Hospitality, and Rising Star award.
The Outstanding Citizen Award is presented to a person who represents the Lake Geneva region at its very best, and who’s been consistently making a positive difference.
The Business of the Year Award is presented to a business or organization that exemplifies excellence in business culture and embodies social responsibility by giving back to the local community.
Community Betterment Award is presented to a non-profit organization that enhances and improves the quality of life in the Lake Geneva region.
The Hospitality Award is presented to a person or business who exemplifies outstanding customer service, care, and hospitality.
The Rising Star Award is a person, organization, or business who, in 5 years or less in their respective field, has made a substantial impact in their profession.
Nominations are available through August 31st on the VISIT Lake Geneva website. Award recipients will be announced and celebrated at VISIT Lake Geneva’s Annual Partnership Dinner in October.
The local police do not like what’s been happening at Fat Cats or Magpies.
Members of the public and nearby businesses keep calling in police complaints lately for both bar/restaurant operations. Little Anthony, the man who claims not to be little at all, is the manager of both businesses and sits on the BID (Business Improvement District) board. He’s a man of stature, if not in statue, but that’s not important here. “L.A.” is promising to hold the noise and aberrant behavior down. Let’s see if he’s ‘big’ enough to do that.
