The Brewers. All good things must come to an end. The Milwaukee Brewers have ended their season after losing to the Mets in the Wild Card playoff series. Alonso’s three-run home run in the top of the ninth inning of Game 3 of the NL Wild Card Series erased the Brewers’ 2-0 lead and ultimately sent the New York Mets to move on in the playoffs. Longtime Brewers radio announcer Bob Uecker did his best to express his feelings amidst the defeat over the airwaves, and he seemingly got choked up during his delivery. “Well, New York, down – they did it,” Uecker said. “And The Crew will, um, will have it end here, tonight.” The Brew Crew has time to recover until the 2025 season starts.

The Packers. The Green Bay Packers turned a pair of turnovers to 14 points in the third quarter and held on to defeat the Los Angeles Rams, 24-19. Packers quarterback Jordan Love capitalized on all of the mistakes, turning them into a field goal and two touchdown passes to tight end Tucker Kraft as his team improved to 3-2. Coming off a big September, it was expected Kraft would be in for a heavy workload against the Rams. Fellow tight end Luke Musgrave was active but didn’t play in the game after missing practice this week due to an ankle injury. If the Packers’ second-year tight end catches the ball, he expects to make the first defender miss. Kraft did plenty of that on his way to a career-high 88 receiving yards and two touchdowns during Sunday’s 24-19 win over the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium. After McKinney corralled a loose fumble at the start of the quarter, Kraft turned a pass into the flat into the longest reception by a Packers tight end in 12 years on his way to a 66-yard touchdown that put Green Bay up 17-13 at the time. When McKinney picked off Matthew Stafford on the next series, the 6-foot-4, 259-pound tight end put an exclamation mark on a seven-play, 54-yard scoring drive for Green Bay when bucked his way into the end zone on a 7-yard TD. Kraft is proving to be a key player on the Packer’s roster. There were plenty of Packer’s fans in attendance to witness the team’s first win in Los Angeles since 1966 and players felt that enthusiasm on the field, with several “Go Pack Go” chants breaking out during the game.

The Bucks. The Milwaukee Bucks will enter the new NBA season ready to prove to everyone that they can be the dominant team many expect them to be. After being bounced out in the first round of the postseason last year, Milwaukee is looking forward to the challenge. They still have two star players to lead the way, guard Damian Lillard and forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. With them in the mix, Milwaukee will be a contender to win the championship. But heading into the season, the Bucks are using a slight against them as motivation. Despite being viewed as a top team, Milwaukee wasn’t given a spot on the infamous NBA Christmas Day games. However, the players know that they can compete with anyone in the NBA. The Bucks will need to come together to reach their goals, and it all starts with how they gel during training camp. Milwaukee will be looking for their second title in the last couple of seasons after the franchise won the championship in 2021.
