The Stop the Bleed campaign is coming to Walworth County.
A bleeding injury can happen anywhere. Become an immediate responder by learning how to control bleeding with ACS Stop the Bleed. Learning to stop the bleeding is a lifesaving skill that we can all use. The number 1 cause of preventable death after injury is bleeding. With 3 quick actions, you can be trained and empowered to save a life. Minutes count! Someone who is severely bleeding can bleed to death in as little as 5 minutes. That’s why bleeding control, keeping the blood inside the body, is the purpose of STOP THE BLEED® training.
The City of Delavan Police Department will begin offering Stop the Bleed training at locations in the City of Delavan and the Village of Darien. Stop the Bleed is a national program created by the American College of Surgeons and the Committee on Trauma to train the public how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and to intervene effectively. Participants will learn to use tourniquets, and wound packing gauze, and to apply pressure to stop life-threatening bleeding. The class will last up to an hour and a half, with a portion of the class being instructed, and the other for hands-on skill building. This class is FREE to the public; however, seating is limited to 10 participants who should be aged 14 or older, due to potentially graphic images and/or topics discussed.

The publisher of the Geneva Shore Report was driving to the office last week when his right rear tire blew out. He made it to Dels, where Billy, the fantastic guy who runs the place and does the towing, changed the tire and pointed out just how gone it was, but fortunately, the rim was saved.
The publisher had a vital appointment coming up in an hour and a half. He called F&F Tire not expecting much until Wanda answered. She went to work immediately as he followed her instructions to drive there immediately. Upon arrival, Wanda had found the rather rare tire his car takes and had it ready to be put on. She rushed his car in and got the job done and he was gone with half an hour to spare and made the vital appointment. Wanda is a gem, and it was all for under $200 out the door.
