Toys for Tots bins are a familiar sight every holiday season.
The giving season is here, and Toys for Tots is an easy way to participate in the season. Many local businesses have the familiar bin in store and any new unwrapped toy is accepted. This wonderful program is The Marines’s way of delivering hope to children at Christmas time. Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve that distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.
This program of giving was founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendricks. The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November, and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. Light Up Lake Geneva is expected to be brighter than ever.
The Christmas tree lighting and shop small weekend will coincide together for a joyful weekend of Christmas fun. Friday, November 29th through Sunday, December 1st is going to be lit. The stores are decked out for the holidays. A beautiful example of small-town charm during the holiday season. It feels like the holidays. Greenery is hung and Christmas décor is displayed everywhere. Lake Geneva is a wonderful community with wonderful people and a picture-perfect small town to enjoy the Christmas season.
Light Up Lake Geneva Tree Lighting kicks off this festive holiday weekend on Friday, November 29th at 5 p.m. in Flat Iron Park. There will be holiday music, and dance performances, and the Jolly Man himself Santa will be visiting the event. After all the holiday festivities head downtown and check out all the holiday décor and the beautiful window displays and cast your vote on your favorite one. This is sure to be a wonderful holiday weekend that is guaranteed to fill everyone with the Christmas Spirit.
