SURPRISING STUFF
It is the time of year that drivers need to be cautious and courteous to snowplow drivers.
There have already been too many close calls and deaths that could have been prevented. Slow down because it takes longer to stop in winter, and you should stay at least 200 feet behind a snowplow. Be aware and please don’t pass snowplows and be aware of the wing that extends out from the plow. Never drive through the snow clouds the plow creates as it can significantly reduce visibility and create hazardous conditions. Be patient and understand that snowplows often travel slower than regular traffic and may need to stop frequently. Watch for signals and pay attention to the plow’s lights and signals, which indicate its intended movements. Let’s provide safer roads and allow the plows to do their job so we can all get to where we need to be safe.
