LIVING HERE
“Women’s Weekend” is only a few weeks away.
The weekend of April 25th through the 27th, Lake Geneva will be filled with wonderful women. Starting Friday, April 25th and through Sunday, April 27th women from all over are encouraged to come to Lake Geneva and explore new experiences and create lasting memories.
Check out the weekend’s scheduled events and get registered to reserve a spot: www.lakegenevawomensweekend.com. The Geneva Lakes Women’s Association is excited to present another weekend of relaxing, connecting, and empowering for women. This is the GLWA’s 61st Anniversary of raising funds for charities, making this weekend a great reason to get away and help others at the same time. The theme of the weekend is “Your Adventure Starts Here.” The three days will be filled with adventures starting with a Kentucky Derby themed party. There will be a diverse schedule of events to join, including ziplining, crafting, fashion, and so much more. Experiences are aimed at celebrating the spirit of adventure in the heart of Lake Geneva for all who participate.
Check in for the weekend events that take place at the grand Riviera Ballroom. At check-in, individual itineraries and swag bags will be picked up. Tickets are required to attend events and workshops. Tickets are sold up to April 25th. Tickets do not include entry into the other activities like the Kick-off Party, candle making and wine sipping, wood sign workshop, craft beer tasting, ziplining, golf, yoga, and so much more. All workshops and activities require additional ticket purchases. This weekend will be full of excitement and events set against the beauty of Lake Geneva and Geneva Lake.
Adopt-A-Highway.
Adopt-A-Highway volunteer groups will begin roadside cleanup efforts in April as part of the coordinated, statewide highway beautification program to remove the trash, recyclables, and litter from state and county roads. Drivers should exercise caution and be aware of the Adopt-A-Highway groups as they are traveling Walworth County roads. Volunteer groups in need of supplies should contact Walworth County Public Works at (262) 741-3367. To make this a safe and productive volunteer program, volunteers should remember to be aware of their surroundings and should not pick up litter on medians, bridges, tunnels, overpasses, or around other structures that would pose a danger.
If volunteers see suspicious items, they should not touch them and should contact Walworth County Public Works (262) 741-3114, Option 1. Groups interested in adopting a road section should contact Walworth County Public Works for information at (262) 741-3367. The County has several segments available on County Highways A, B, C, D, DD, E, K, M, N, O, and X.
