HUGE INERTIAL MASS
The United States covers just over six percent of the world’s land mass, making it the fourth largest in the world after Russia, Canada, and China. For those worried that the United States may not survive the current internal ‘adjustments’ being made to its diplomatic, alliance, and economic approach to dealing with the rest of this world, please think about the huge mass of it, not in land, but in monstrous influence. The country is by far the most powerful military on earth. It has a national defense budget now that is almost equal to all the other countries’ put together at over a trillion dollars, not including the assets of great private national defense companies.
Russia, which is discussed by the mass media as being a threat to the U.S., has a national defense budget (last year) of just over sixty billion dollars. For the U.S., that means a couple of nuclear carrier fleets, of which this country has eleven while Russia has none. America has over six hundred military bases built and operated in other countries. That fact is discussed in the mass media as being an expense and defending countries that might not be able to defend themselves. In actuality, it’s an extension of great power. The U.S. can reach out at any time and take military action from its bases in any of those countries out there, or almost all of them. The U.S. also has over six hundred military bases within its borders. Over twelve hundred bases cover the world, while the rest of the world put together have built and maintained only two hundred and eighty-seven.
Satellites in space? The U.S. has over 12,000; the rest of the world, about the same. Let’s turn to the economy. The U.S. has arguably an economy equal to all other economies combined, including that of China, which was supposed to overpower the U.S. ten years ago but never came close. Russia, for example, has a Gross National Product about the size of Ohio. Yes, that’s it. The current leadership of the USA is working from a bully’s position, and given that it was just Star Wars Day, claiming that the country is being run by the rebels, not the Evil Empire, like in the movie.
Of course, a toddler, after seeing the movie, would be hard put to not see almost all the presentations and actions of America’s leader as being almost identical to those of Darth Vader. But what of the damage that can be done from within, as so many have feared ever since the man came back into power? He’s been in power again for over a hundred days, and not much has changed, despite wild orders and attempts by him to change things massively. The inertia of the USA is grandly huge, and it will change, but the speed of it will not allow a man with his mortality numbers staring him in the face to observe many of its deeper effects. There’s no question now that pain is coming. With the ports all empty and remaining that way, there simply becomes no way to avoid empty shelves and higher prices by far.
Endurance is going to be vital, and this newspaper has been encouraging the local citizenry to consider pulling in their horns rather than buying everything in sight because either there won’t be those products for quite some time or the ones there will be too expensive to purchase. The country’s not that hurt yet, although the real pain will begin sometime in the next few weeks. Is it okay to fear that? Yes, but don’t be terrorized. Somehow, through either your own will or by the moving hand of God, you are in the best country on earth to survive and once again wait until thriving becomes (once again) the American way of life. God bless us all and the USA!
