THE BRIGHT SIDE
More fall activities and events are being scheduled, so mark all calendars so nobody misses out.
The Geneva Lakes Antique & Classic Boat Show at the Abby Marina is just about here. Saturday, September 27th, and Sunday, September 28th. This is an annual event held at the Abby Resort Harbor. The Blackhawk Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society is passionate about the event and enjoys sharing it with all every year. Yes, it is open to the public and has free admission.
The beautiful mostly wooden boats are on display Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., including a boat parade Saturday at 4 p.m. This is great for everyone, even if you are not a boat enthusiast. The boats are works of art, and all will be congregated in one beautiful harbor on a beautiful early fall day.
The ballet is coming to Williams Bay.
Performed under the beautiful lakefront in Williams Bay at the Ferro Pavilion, five professional ballet dancers from Milwaukee Ballet and beyond bring celebrated choreographer Dawn Springer’s critically acclaimed performance, Sylph, to the shores of Geneva Lake. Surrounded by nature with a score by renowned experimental percussionist and composer, Jon Mueller, the immersive contemporary dance and sound experience re-imagines the fairy-like Sylphs of folktales and reveals the humanity and power of the ballerinas who are tasked to portray them. They will perform two shows, one on Wednesday and one on Thursday, with both performances starting at 7:30 p.m.
