Winterfest 2026 is a wrap.
Unlike the past couple of years, this year Mother Nature cooperated. Winterfest 2024 and Winterfest 2025 had some of the same challenges with unseasonably warm weather and melting issues. This was not a problem this year as the cold set in and continued through the event. The sculptures are expected to be around for a while. Visit Lake Geneva, and the Snow Sculpting Teams deserve a huge high five for enduring the cold and all their hard work. Judging was held Saturday afternoon, and the winners were announced.
The teams made do and came through with some spectacular creations. Saturday afternoon the winners were announced, and the 2026 America’s Snow Sculpting Invitational Champions were introduced. First place goes to a Wisconsin team, “Up to Snow Good,” and their creation, “K’inich Ahau Ixchel (The Sun and Moon Goddess).
Second place and Artist’s Choice are another Wisconsin tea,m “Sculptora Borealis” with their piece of “Controller of the Woods”. Third place is the Minnesota team “Doing our Best” with their sculpture of “It’s a Moth and Mushrooms”. People’s choice.
