LIVING HERE
Young drivers.
Teens will now be required to learn about school bus and student crossing safety when they take driver’s ed, following legislation signed into law last week. Senate Bill 392, now 2025 Wisconsin Act 209: Requires all approved driver education courses to include instruction relating to student crossings, school bus lights, and when cars must stop for a stopped school bus, including how requirements are affected by highway configuration.
The training must also cover when vehicles are required to stop for a school bus and how those requirements change based on the configuration of the highway.
It’s almost flea market time once again.
The Elkhorn Antique Flea Market was proud to be featured on the popular TV show Discover Wisconsin. The market truly is fun for all ages. You never know what your next treasure will be. Founded in 1981–1982 at the Walworth County Fairgrounds, the Elkhorn Antique Flea Market has grown from roughly 15–50 vendors to over 500, becoming a premier Midwest vintage destination.
Originally a small gathering near the north gate, it now spans the 99-acre fairgrounds. The event enforces a strict policy, requiring items to be antiques or vintage goods from the 1970s or older. The Walworth County Fairgrounds provides a setting that suits a market of this size perfectly.
Located at 411 E Court St, Elkhorn, WI 53121, the grounds offer generous open space, permanent structures for indoor vendors, and enough room to accommodate such a crowd. With a bit of patience and a sharp eye, it’s surprisingly easy to walk away with pieces that feel far more valuable than what you paid. Walking into a market with over 500 vendors is like stepping into a living archive of American culture and feeling the history behind every object. Every booth at the
Elkhorn Antique Flea Market tells a story through the objects displayed in every way possible. Each booth can specialize in something different and often has stories to share about its beloved items. Rain or shine, the Elkhorn Antique Flea Market keeps moving. Indoor spaces at the Walworth County Fairgrounds tend to house vendors with more delicate inventory: fine glassware, porcelain, framed artwork, vintage textiles, and smaller collectibles that benefit from shelter and controlled display.
For 2026, the confirmed dates are May 17, June 28, August 9, and September 27, and each date falls on a Sunday.
