LITTLE GEMS
The Highway 50 project.
The project is coming up quickly, scheduled to start in February 2027 and go through 2028. City officials, business owners, and residents are aware of the challenges the road work will bring and continue to prepare for this large two-year project. The city, Visit Lake Geneva, Downtown Lake Geneva, and its partners at Gmoxie are working to make the project run as smoothly as possible. Public information meetings have been held, and more are already scheduled. The next two meetings will be at City Hall on September 16, 2026, and December 9, 2026, from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.
With the 64th Annual Venetian Festival opening this Wednesday, August 19th through August 23rd, the Entertainment Pavilion and beer tent will be rocking.
The lineup starts on Wednesday with “Lunch Money Bullies”. This is a high-energy performance.
The scene is set for the rest of the week. The classic rock tribute band “The Toys” will take the stage Thursday with an electrifying performance.
Friday night, the down-home country sounds of “Kelly Daniels” will fill the night.
Saturday will have “Terry Byrne Band” to mix it up with some pop, rock, and classic favorites.
A fan favorite, “Too Hype Crew” takes Saturday night to a new level with hip-hop and G-funk from all your favorites from the 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s.
Sunday afternoon, the talented students of “Rock Central” and the popular “Big Al Wetzel Band” will entertain the crowd.
Local heroes and local legends take the stage as the “Venetian All Stars”.
Of course, the Venetian Festival will include a fun-filled carnival with rides, games, food, a craft fair, fireworks, and so much more.
