The previously scheduled Sept. 16 Public Information Meeting on the Hwy 50 reconstruction project is cancelled.
The meeting was originally scheduled for 6-7 p.m. on Sept. 16 at City Hall. The City of Lake Geneva cancelled the September 16, 2026, meeting because they are collaborating with local tourism and business groups to develop more comprehensive outreach and engagement opportunities regarding the Highway 50 reconstruction.
According to an official statement from the City of Lake Geneva Facebook Page, the city is working alongside VISIT Lake Geneva and Downtown Lake Geneva to realign how they communicate project impacts and updates to residents and business owners.
The next public update meeting for the Hwy 50 Construction project is scheduled for Wednesday, December 9, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lake Geneva City Hall. Bids for the project open in late 2026.
Jerry Steinke continues to recover in Golden Years Rehabilitation.
A lot of people in and around Lake Geneva simply love this man, and the staff of the GSR is no exception. Jerry went back into the hospital for a bit but then pulled through once more. The more visitors he receives and the more support he gets will do nothing less than propel him forward into a full recovery from the fall that almost cost him his life.
