12 DAYS!!!
Earth-shaking, ground-quaking, and socially explosive elections are only twelve days away as this newspaper goes to print and gets distributed. The biggest race in Wisconsin is for governor, as the current one is retiring while the Republican and the Democrat challengers for the job are very close in the polls. Tiffany, the Republican, has about 44%, and Crowley, the Democrat, has about 49%. Still close, as the room for error is around four percent.
But, of course, the really important elections that will determine which party has control of the House and Senate have little to do with Wisconsin because if tradition and experience play a role here, then nothing is going to change as the results of those other states’ elections come rolling in. The President of the country remains all over the board in his actions; those actions might bring about a recovery for the Republicans before the next 14 days have gone by because it looks, as things stand, that the Republicans are now likely to lose both the House and the Senate.
Declarations that gas prices are not that bad; prices of groceries have not gone up; ICE is doing just fine as it is, and the U.S. will quit the way if Netanyahu loses his election, which is occurring at just about the same time as these mid-term determinant elections, are simply not working as they are spewed out of the President’s mouth while he’s on a campaign trail across the country that not republicans running want to join him in participating.
The Geneva Shore Report does care to admit when the President (rarely) does things right, in the editorial board’s view. One of the things he did right was to call off the public execution of that officer that his totally whacked-out Secretary of Defense had dreamed up. Oh yes, let’s live stream the firing squad shooting a blindfolded guy tied to a wheelchair and allow that exhibition to flow around the world, as the USA would have joined the only other country to still execute criminals in public (amazingly and weirdly, that other country is Iran!). That such an act would have been considered, before Trump finally decided against it (after favoring it for weeks), describes just how far the country (only 18 percent approved) has sunk morally.
The second thing the President did this last week that was right was to fire the woman hired to be his press secretary. The ‘Stepford Wife’ woman (another of those women who are dressed the same, the same age, the same body, the same makeup…looking like they make extra money out on the streets at night). The most important fact is that he fired her for the lack of vetting she received going into the job.
In the ‘old days,’ when the author used to visit the White House on business (CIA), an entire Top Secret background check had to be done for anyone entering certain parts of the building and then renewed every two years. This woman’s background would never have allowed her to be in the presence of the President, much less be the press secretary. Who is watching the store in Washington these days, and why are selected candidates not vetted? But he fired her after six days, a new record.
Those things are important, and he did them right, but are nothing compared to the blatant wrongs:
1. Dumping Ukraine and giving the world to Putin once more, continuing the war with Iran, doing nothing about fixing the tariff mess that did not work for anyone (just like it did not for Herbert Hoover, and is likely to have the same effect for the president, much less the general public).
2. Offering to buy votes in the coming elections (blatantly federally and state-illegal), and doing nothing to head off the complete disaster that’s coming when millions of people lose their medical insurance as the New Year comes (the Medicare Advantage Companies, as the GSR has been reporting, are going to be allowed to dump anyone who has had serious claims, and regular Medicare won’t take those people back until October of next year!) The estimate, without those being dumped off of Medicaid for other reasons, should be around three million people.
Oh, and the Advantage plans are also, for the clients they keep, allowed to drop the phony vision, hearing, and other extra benefits they were using in the hoax to get people to sign up. From just what you’ve read in this article, you should be motivated to vote. How you vote is up to you. Think about it. Really.
