The Bright Side

Holiday lights instantly make you feel young again.
The Annual Holiday Windows Display Competition’s is back again this year. The downtown Lake Geneva businesses are starting their elaborately, thought out holiday decorations and displays. Lake Geneva has that small town charm and the small businesses love to play off that theme. The community and social voting will begin on November 11th and ends on December 16th. To vote all you have to do is walk around our wonderful downtown and take in all the great decorations. The businesses participating in the contest will have a ballot box to drop your vote in. There will be four winners, one from each of the four categories.

The four winners will be announced the week of December 18th. This is a win for everyone; the shops enjoy the reactions to their displays and the public loves enjoying them.

Thanks to Our Police Department

City of Lake Geneva Police Department

National Drug Take Back Day and in Lake Geneva the Walgreens, down across from Wal-Mart, and along with the Lake Geneva Police Department participated by collecting unused and expired Medications. Detective Seth Keller was great. He spent hours collecting and disposing of the medications properly. On Saturday alone over thirty pounds were collected at Walgreens, and almost seventeen pounds at the drug take back box at the police department. The Lake Geneva Police Department has collected one hundred seventy- seven pounds of meds in the last six months. If you were not able to get to Walgreens on Saturday the police department has a collection box available at the municipal building. All in all it was the event was a success. This is a great way to keep drugs out of the wrong hands, as well as protecting the environment from improper disposal.
