Letter to the Editor

Yesterday 4 people fell on the ice across the street in front of the canteen and on city sidewalks.

Why is it we the shop owners HAVE to keep our sidewalks free of ice and snow but the city does not? And there were four delivery trucks trying to make the turn into the alley, three did not make it. The trucks were sliding back down to the street. The one that did make it got his own 50 lb. bag of salt out to forge a path of his own.

I called the police and asked if there was anyone out. They didn’t think so! Just because ice storms fall on a weekend does not mean they should not be out putting sand or salt on the streets. And I saw you drive in (while filming). Did you see any city trucks out yesterday? Neither did I.
